I think the number one question I’ve been asked, other than the when, where, & why, has been, “Same gear? Different gear?” My answer? It’s a mix.
I’m a firm believer in “don’t fix what ain’t broken,” mostly because I don’t need to create more waste in the world. It’s a balance, of course. I used the same Ziploc baggies as dry bags the entire A.T. in 2024. I used my last Smartwater bottle from Virginia to Maine… I probably would’ve been right to replace that a few times.
